Credo in Unum Deum

I Believe in One God

Yeah, so I like the Old Roman Rite. Is that so bad? I mean, what’s wrong with liking tradition? Isn’t that why I left the Protestant religion? So be nice to me… I am not a maniac… well, mostly. But I do think the real Motu Maniacs are those who are freaking out about its “imminent” arrival. Of course, it has been arriving any day now for, what, two years? Anyway, it has been reported that the Holy Father has sent out some men around the world to explain to the bishops why he is freeing up the old rite. He is very smart to do this since if any bishops do not comply (and there will be some who openly disobey the Pope), they cannot say that they just didn’t understand.

When it does come, and as we wait, let us pray for our bishops, pray especially for the Bishop of Rome, and pray for the faithful and the unity of the Church. Many will use this as an opportunity to divide further on both extreme sides. Let the freeing up of the Old Rite incite us to further holiness. That will be the best argument for why it is so desperately needed today… heck, for the last 40 years.
